Power

A 59-minute talk by Neville Goddard, restored from an archived recording

Neville Goddard discusses the nature of divine power as distinct from worldly power. He identifies this power as Christ, defined as one's own human imagination. The lecture covers repentance as a radical change of attitude, the use of imagination to achieve objectives, and the personification of creative power as a little child. He emphasizes that imagination is God and the kingdom of heaven is within.

Divine vs. Earthly Power

Today's subject is power. I do not mean the power of Caesar. I am speaking tonight of the power of God. Where in the world is Caesar? I think all nations will admit that the land of ours is by far the greatest power in the world of freedom. Economic power, military power. And here we are against a ten -threat nation, who is trying to win the longest war in our history. We say we have an objective, and that we have the means to achieve it. but we are unwilling to use the means that we have, will then modify the objective to fit the means that we are willing to use. That belongs to the world of Caesar.

If we do not modify the objective to fit the means we are willing to use, we will then cut bait and forget, and forget the so -called saving faith. But I'm not speaking of that kind of a power. I'm speaking of the power of God, which is called in Scripture, Jesus Christ. Paul defines Christ as the power of God and the wisdom of God. Here we find wisdom and power. Exalted and personalized as God's companion in the creation of the world. That power is your own wonderful human imagination. That's the power of God. That is Christ, for I am concerned that is Jesus Christ of the scriptures. Now tonight, we are talking just about this power.

Repentance and Metanoia

The early gospel is Mark, and the first word you find on the lips of this power. Now, the time has come to end, and the Kingdom of God is at hand. Repent and believe in the Gospel. Now the word repent, and the use in the word, is not what scripture means. When the use is held, you mean to feel remorse, regret. That has nothing to do with the word repent. It's beneath metanoia. A radical but radical change of attitude. A radical change of mind. Can I see an objective when everything tells me that I can't be enlightened? Or do I have the power to be a life objective? I tell you we have. We have the power.

But what is the deeper meaning of power? What affected it in achieving one's perfect in life? But why not perfect? Why not power? I tell everyone, yes, just imagine the end can't you? Can you imagine what it would be like if it were true? Can you feel what it would be like if it were true? Well then that's the power. Now can you be persistent in it? Can you remain faithful to that end? I still hear with you. I don't care what the objective is. You have the power to achieve it. If you know this power is the power of Christ. All things are possible to hear. These personified in Scripture. Let us go back and see how the first personifier was.

Wisdom as God's Companion

If you were reading in the 8th chapter of the book of Proverbs, The twenty second word, through to the end, the thirty six words. And these are the words God put together for me. In the beginning of His Word, the very first of His Acts of the World. One translation has each related to me, but that's not a good translation. I can't cite three pages like the family to think I can develop it. for it was with me in the beginning. I can say that I created my capacity to imagine. It was with me. I may not imagine correctly, but it was with me. So, God was present in the beginning of the way, the very first of the taxable, before he brought forth the universe, before he laid out the foundation of the earth.

I was beside him like a little child, I was daily his delight, rejoicing before him all, delighted in his inhabited world. Now my sons, listen to me. He who pines me pines I, and obtains favor from the Lord. But he who misses me pines himself. himself. All who hate me love death. You read these words in the 8th of Proverbs. Can you trust the light of the little child? God's companion in the creation of the world. When you read it, it doesn't make sense, but I've had my own personal experience. Having practiced the art of repentance, and having experienced the virtue of love with But the little child, I know exactly what the prophet meant when he was inspired to write the whole book.

The Little Child Symbol

One day you will encounter the creative power in you to glorify as a little child. The whole vast world has completely misunderstood it. And think it's a little child wrapped in a golden cloth that was found by the shepherds 2 ,000 years ago. That was the sign of the birth of man of the creative power of God. So God is actually bringing forth his creative power through man. And God is brought to birth in man. So that man actually becomes part of the creative power of the universe. The sign of his birth, the sign of his awareness of it is that of the libertine. So here I was distracted, I was distracted like a little child when he got to the universe.

So in every one, in bringing me to the thought of the created power of the universe, then the sight of my arriving at that point is symbolized in that of a little child. When I find the child, I have found light. Now I have light in myself. I am no longer an animated body. I am a life -giving spirit. If I miss it, I injure myself. All who hate me, not them. Now this world is the world of death. So you tell the story to the world, and the majority, the other half, the building across the street, or the building, something to them that is pure. Now you know, remarkably, about power. Take the building away, destroy the building, but leave me the power to recreate it.

Don't take from me the creative power, but take all the things I create. But the world would rather have the thing to eat than the power to create. And so don't do hate me. There's a depth. There is love for the whole dark world that we take. For everything that is built today gradually fades. It comes into the world, it waxes, it wanes, and it vanishes. But leave me the power to bring anything into this world, and take from me, if you will, anything that I bring into the world. For don't take from me the creative power, that I may actually create anything in this world. Now what does it mean by refinement? It means this, to test the individual's ability to enter into and partake of the nature of the opposite.

Testing Imagination Through Repentance

I become one and they are, well, they are behind the eight ball financially. They have to clear rage, they have to bite wolves, feed themselves, or maybe they have obligations to survive. Others to feed, others to float, maybe a parver model. But I need them and they are not employed. ¶Now it tests my ability to put them into the state where they are dangerously employed. I bring them before my mind's eye, I represent them to myself, I have gainfully employed. And to the degree that I am self- persuaded of the reality of what I am seeing, and hearing, and doing, to that degree they become exactly what I am doing, followed in my imagination. For if tomorrow or any minute threaten, they act with an informed output to what I am doing, every inquiry I have problems created from.

I play the game with another one. I fight with another one. I keep on trying. And it works. So then I tell it. I tell every one who listen to me, I'm believing it to try. See if you can exercise that same power in you. It's not a different power, it's only one price. There are a multitude of primes running around the earth, only one price. And that Christ is your own wonderful human imagination. So I exercise my imagination and it proves itself in performance. And then you exercise your imagination and it proves itself in performance. It's the same imagination. ¶The individual eyes never individualize you because of your name. Then you share it with another and you tell it to others.

But if I can tell it to the point where they are frustrated or trialed, I mean trying to prove itself in the text, for we have done that. You read in scripture, I have come to you. I have come the one of whom knows you in the Lord and the prophet's rep. Jesus. Yes. For the word Jesus simply means what Jehovah means. It means salvation. It means to stay. I say to one from poverty, why pray me to a state of affluence? And that's the truth. I'll take this all to the same power. If someone had done well, and I represent him to myself as being with an embodiment of health, then he conforms to it.

That's the truth. You say this, from what? From being? From well? But it takes trying and trying and trying, and it proves itself. ¶What does it matter what others think? What does it matter what anyone thinks about what I am talking about? I only know that it proves itself in works, but every work will enthrall it. So this is the power of which I think. Not something you is looking on the outside, you don't buy it. It's in nature. You exercise. ¶So you're told to rethink. It's the beginning of the exercise of the power. And when you reach a certain degree of intensity, that power is born. And it's born in you and then personified as a little child.

And you actually think yourself coming out of your own skull. And here is the little child wrapped in twaddling clothes. And it is your child. Now you didn't form some little child in your head. ¶The child is a sign of your virtue above. It's a sign of your right into the greatest dream of God. Once down you're now one with the creator power of God. And with only God. Nothing but God. Man is all imagination and God is man. And exists in us and we in him. The created power of God is man's imagination. That's the act of Jesus Christ himself. That is the order of Jesus Christ. And all the time you find this is what the world is talking about.

The Two Beings Vision

What they're putting on the outside. I made the middle door up. Putting powers in everyone. And let me show you from my own experience what I know about this law. I can raise power in the world of Caesar. We're doing it by the billions every year with our little war. And all the nonsense we have in the world. This power you can't waste. You can misuse it, but you can't waste it. I can misuse it every moment of time by imagining unlovely things about people. Unlovely things about myself. No. Why can you look hatefully? I can't waste it. I'll tell you why you can't do it. One night, many, many years ago, I suddenly became aware of two beings.

I am the one perceiving them. From the three, I am the perceiver. Here, a prophet tells them of a beautiful woman in action. An angel of beauty. An angel of beauty and of everything. It was that. And below me, the most monstrous thing that men could ever think of. Covered in hair, like a veil, but I could speak. It broke better. I looked at it. Then it looked at me, and then it pointed to this beautiful angelic thing. And it called this woman, Mother. For I was so annoyed with this monstrous thing that I'd come up with. They gloat it, they love violence, they prey on violence. Every time I am as violent it begins to show up.

And it's a beautiful thing, knowing that this one is calling it mother. And suddenly as I am thinking this thing, I realize that this is the embodiment of all of my misplaced energy. And this one is the embodiment of the solidification of every noble thought I have ever entertained. I looked at this thing, I had no one with whom I could pray. I felt a compagny that I had never known before. I looked at this monstrous thing and realized it was the result of my own misused energy. It never should have been given birth. And I prayed to myself, I will redeem you if it takes me to heaven. I prayed to myself to redeem it.

And you know what happened? At that very moment before my eyes, the whole thing was dead. That monstrous thing, the embodiment of power, horrible looking thing, it all got smaller and smaller and smaller. And it had no trace of ever having been present. But as it got smaller and smaller, and disappeared, the end of it returned to me. I felt infinite power. I felt like it was about anything. The power returned to me. It wasn't wasted. It was with you. you, but not lost. Nothing is lost in all life only love. So you can't lose the power. You can use the power, but you can't lose it. But you will confront it one day, in a monstrous thing like that.

And you'll exactly what I did. You won't wait to redeem it at the very moment that you pledge yourself and you mean it. I'll redeem you if it takes me eternity. At that moment, that monstrous thing will get smaller and smaller, and death one It becomes radiant like a thunder. She is the involvement and the permanent the tonification, getting ever greater of your own noble, wonderful, point. Every lovely act of yours feeds her. Every ignoble act of yours feeds him. And they walk with you. This one whispers the lovely things encouraging you to be noble. And this one whispers the violence. If you are the crossroads as to what you should do, this one wants to be free.

He can only feed on violence. And this one can only feed on the noble, lovely thoughts of man. And when you create, you see your own creation. And it's all the same power of your own wonderful human imagination. From then on you know who you are. You are a created power. And you go out and change everything in your world to make it to the point of something larger. And you don't do it on the outside, you do it on the inside. You do it all in your imagination. Imagination is God, and you're easy about that. His name is I am, forever and forever and forever. And yet when you do meet the photonic occasion of your own imagination, it'll be a man.

God as Man

And that man is you, for not now. You also meet him in another garment and he is in full equality. He is in full equality. And you realize that the being that you really are is approaching the being. He plays all the parts. When you meet him, his fundamental being is love. So the alter is thought and you see him as love. And he also is wisdom and you see him as wisdom. And you don't have to ask any question as to who are you. It's not obvious that you take the strategy of infinite power or infinite wisdom for infinite love. And you know the truth of the statement of Scripture when you say, God is God, you take the strategy of God, infinite trust, infinite command.

Our guidance, sir, of that impersonal form is not impersonal. It is very personal. God is a man. You are a man, not an informal. Your own humanity learned to adore. For everything here is God. And God being man, his every attribute is personified. So you meet God as power, it's man. Meet him as wisdom, it's man. Meet him as love, it's man. So I tell you, this thought of which I speak is right here. In your own wonderful humanized place. Don't turn to another. Don't charge anything on the outside. is all within you, the kingdom of heaven is within you. And God said to the devil, I turn within, I turn, I turn to my own wonderful human imagination.

And then I imagine what I want, and it's built in my own world. And persuade myself that it's true, to the degree that I am self -proclaimed a construct. In fact, this closed itself in what the world thought was reality. But the reality is not the visible thing they see. The reality is the unseen state which I've imagined. To take the open, cut it down, to reuse itself by the invisible. The little lamb is playing with the light. But the reality of that lamb, that throne that is forever, is unclean, my man. So here in this wonderful world of ours, you have the power. You don't need financial power, that won't do it. You can buy health.

You can buy respect, or you can buy it for a little while. But they don't really respect you. Let the money go and they don't respect you. You don't need anything in the world of Jesus to buy what you want. Come, you're told, buy it. Without price, without money. You say, buy it without price, but then you see it's not Jesus' coin, if you will. You knew your own wonderful human imagination. How did you get the job? The friend of mine comes down. He went to the barbershop. There were four barbers. He went to the barbershop, of course, and after about three visits, the barbers came checking his day, and he took the top one, the rancher.

Barber Shop Story

He rather liked the way that Ben cut his hair. He got into it. And he realized the man loved barbering. He loved it. That's all my friend needed. Do you really love it? He said, I just love it. I wouldn't do anything else but cut hair. I just love it. That is what my friend did. He imagined that man, the head of the shop, didn't consult him, didn't consult the barber, didn't consult anyone. Yes, this one. He liked him. He imagined that he was the head, no, the head of the shop. Six feet later, the barber decided the owner to unload the job. When he raised the money, my friend never told me, but he bought the job.

And moved on the port man, the no man of the children's balls, to the bar. In the last year, this one sold out and he came here to the city. About two months ago, there was a dumb meeting here of pub guests among the barbers. He brought two his Harvard victims. One was committed, he couldn't come that day. He brought two. They took back, out of five prizes, they took back four. He won two, a first and a second, and two for Harvard's one, two seconds. He just entered another contest of the entire region, that is the seven western states, and he won it, plus the Pell Snows, a big brand you'd never want to go on.

All because of my friend's use of imagination. This man has terrific control of this power. He never dies a agent. About, I would say, the early part of the year. The important thing to him is to develop that account. And I don't want to lose it. But you know the industry today is on the kids. And he has to do dumb things to pull it out. So all these guys get out, get the magic, and we each be on our feet. ¶My only problem would be to face these men who believe themselves so wise and persuade them to let me go all out with my campaign. From the premise that it's already an accomplished act.

I can't advertise that the thing is profitable. I'd rather say it had been tried and proven in my act. He worked up the entire thing. When these 20 men, all the multi -millionaires, started to want to use the energy to the world, this is international industry. When you work the entire thing out, as regards to these 3 men and the 4, they thought themselves above all that. They were ethically above all things. Their world, clothing, would not allow it. But my friend persuaded them, based it out on the operating, that the imagining, creating, triumphant. So you want something creative? Leave it to me. I will take your desire. I'll make it something that is already a fact.

You've lost it. The first quarter of this year, that thing that picked up on the rest of the ocean down, turned it around, and their profits, their profits the first quarter of this year, was $25 million more than the first quarter of last year. $25 million more. I'm thinking of a net profit. Now these wise men with their wonderful ethical clothes, they are lowing. They saw the money in the bank. They saw all these things, and their so -called ethical, moral clothes back to the window, because they saw another principle which they did not know. It compared to, I saw the letter, it compared in the advertising field, not the boss, my friend was. He said, you know, I take my hat off.

You knew of the principle that we all were doomed in our work, which the Don and I never did know. So I'll explain to you what you did. He's trying to figure out the point of what he's doing. And in this matter, he makes the claim that he actually knew and all were doomed, and no one can work for our principle unless he's aware of this principle and lives by it. We aren't concerned about his religious background, he could be a Catholic, Catholic Jew, or atheist, for he has to live by the principle. And I saw that letter. The man was thinking. He had the thinking to get the one who made him believe it to come forward and telling what he did.

Well, here is the same one in the Barbie doll. He goes there every half of the morning by appointment at the post, Barbie doll, and waits for them right on the doggone. Every time he is right there for the camp, he loves it. And he took him from the poor man on the token pole, a bushing rider. He realized a man likes studying here. That what he likes, he loves it. All right, then be the best. If you like it, be the very best in the trade. Tell me what you want. Maybe one of your wives. Some, uh, leaving a home. But what will that? My mother doesn't go to work. She yet had ten children and lived at home.

with her full company of servants. My sister would never work, so she lived at home with her servants. My wife worked until I could afford a keeper. Then when I could afford a keeper, then I said, oh you stop. So she stopped. That's almost two years after we got married. Two years after, I said I could afford a keeper. She said, from now on you don't work. So she hasn't gone back to work. So tell me what you want, and then let me persuade myself that what you really want, you have. To the degree that I am self -persuaded that you have it, you get it. If I can't persuade myself of it, I fail.

But I have discovered this thing called energy, because I try and love it. So any time you use your imagination lovingly on behalf of an other, you use it wisely. Even if you didn't succeed in producing the results that you were seeking, you used it wisely. You were not then in front of the monster that I be. But the chances are, everyone in here, by knowing it, built that monster. For everyone is talented to use the energy. And it formed and started to become a horrible, horrible thing. Did you ever sit down and you want to flip on 30 that door come from? It wasn't a healthy thought. They claim to be the thing that you live, that mist pain and anger.

The Witness of Scripture

And one should be the one they will meet for the treasure and can punish you and do not to redeem it. Because Christ must be redeemed. And although he is the redeemer, he also is one to be redeemed because he is only energy. He is power. Infinite creative power in Christ. The power of the world. The power of which I speak is your own wonderful human imagination. That's God. ¶See, when I tell you that man is all imagination, and God is man, and exists in us and we in him, the eternal body of man is imagination, and that is God himself. The divine body is Jesus, and we are his members. So every one can imagine that all are members of the one one.

So, this is what was spoken of in the chapter 12. ¶I was beside him as a little child. He climbed me and you find I. He missed me and you injured yourself. He kicked me and you got dead. The one who finds him is born from above. And when he be born from above, you cannot think of the kingdom of God. And the word above is simply symbolized in that of a little child, wrapped in swaddling clothes. So it's not some little event that took place 2000 years ago once and for all. It is taking place. ¶So you started with repentance. Repent and believe the story of the God -in -law. And to repent is to tell you, to tell you, can you take a man from the lowest point in the barbershop or barbershop, or making a bond.

Can you represent him to yourself as one who really enjoys it, who loves it, and you love him? Well, then try it. So he loves him. According to his mind's eye, he is one to plead for the importance of his life. And the man suddenly rolled, tumbling to the highest place in his job. And now with the entire wealth to the area, he is one of the brightest. And then one, he lists. advertising agency. He can write his own ticket today. The boss said to him, you do what you want. The boss gives him, well, I would say, three, four times a year, a huge, great, unsolicited bonus check. He wants to keep it. My friend has no desire to quit.

But the boss is so eager to hold him that one bonus happens the other. And my friend, why are you taking it? Why shouldn't he? So I ask every one here to try it. ¶Don't yet listen to it or not try it. You are the offering power. It doesn't operate itself. So when I know what I can do, what I do it. So I sleep tonight, alright. How am I sleeping? In what state of consciousness do I sleep? As someone that if I wanted, or if I didn't, I would rise tomorrow to find myself unwanted. Ignore the facts of life and assume that you are wanted. Ignore the facts of life and assume that you are affluent.

And see how things work in your world. They all come your way. ¶You are creating out of a power that is infinite. And you don't need any contacts in the world. You don't need to know the right people or anything else in the world. All you need to know is Christ, and Christ is your own wonderful human imagination. What else do you need to know but Christ? But no one tells him he's up there and he looks like this. ¶There is no personal representation in Scripture concerning Jesus Christ. Not one little thought is mentioned concerning what he looks like. Yet our churches have hundreds and hundreds of paintings. No two alike. Each tell you that is what Jesus looks like.

He looks just like you. As you're told in Scripture. It does not yet appear what he should be, but we know this one. When he does appear, we should know him. Why? We should be like him. Just like you, when he appears. So let no one tell you that he looks other than you, because that's not Christ. And yet in spite of the second commandment, make no grave or image of him. We have all these little indulgences. People buy and they bow before it and call that price. Something made with the human hand. And then they forget the maker and worship the thing made. Don't forget the Creator. The Creator is your own wonderful human imagination.

Whatever you create is left in you, the Creator. So you can create a fortune, or you can take it from him. You can create another one. So whatever you can make to keep on making, you can take it from him. So this is the power of which I speak. I am not speaking of any earthly power. Many a man this night, actually I was in Barbados for a few months, and my brother, who has made quite a fortune, he was talking about these men. And he didn't realize what he was saying. He mentioned five men, all multi -millionaires. Somebody got through telling me how they worked so hard, and they did all this, and all this much.

I said, Vic, you admire them? I said, Vic, they're powerful. They was powerful. You just painted five biographies for me. Word pictures of five men. The last one you painted is only 63 years old. She has, you tell me, about 25 million. And you have to tell me when to eat. He doesn't know. Doesn't know his name. Doesn't know anything. And all of a sudden, the poor miss loves, and they say, Jews. You mean Jews. And he promised you forever. And they'll say, Swallow. Please follow this. And you call that a man? So he has 25 million, so what? And the others, so they begin all their time what? Making money. Just making things. And everyone you've mentioned, I'm just buying for it.

For I wouldn't put anyone, my worst enemy, if I had one, in his place. So he has money, and he's totally unaware of the fact that he has one nickel. So he has 25 million. And that's what you call a man. But that's not my concept of a man. I am telling you something entirely different, Rick. Deals of money may never happen to you. So you have millions too. You don't want to be like that. All these fellows are the vintages. They get their entire lives to the making of the massive of things and they start to worship things. Don't you start worshipping things. You start worshipping God, and only God, and God is your own wonderful human imagination.

And don't you forget it. So if this building is yours, boy, it burns tonight. So what? You know what you did. You build it. Build another one. Tomorrow you may have the whole thing burn flat. And so don't be concerned about what you're accumulating as things in the world. Find God and worship only God. And God is not on the outside. You will never see it on the outside. It's the same with him because can you see I am? You can see I am a man and see the man reflected. You can say, I'm a poor man, and see the manly effect it in the eyes of those who know he's poor. And you can see every concept you hold of self, but the conceiving being you don't see, that's God.

My concept of myself could be this, that, or the other. The concepts would be effective in society. And men will tell me who I have conceived myself to be, but no man knows who I really am. I, the conceiver, they don't know. But they know what I've conceived myself to be. My bank balance will tell the banker. So I've conceived myself to be the financial world. And all these concepts, they will see concepts, but they can't see me the conceiver. Well, don't forget the conceiver, that's God. And that being in your own wonderful I am at that time. And I've never got enough of him. I never will be enough of him. So God is bringing forth his own being.

Because he's buried it out, and he's bringing it up to enter the stream of creativity. So that the same one being, God is infinite in potential. But God is not infinite in practical facts because then he would be dead. He couldn't expand. He couldn't go beyond what he is. So God is ever expanding. There is no limit to expansion. There was only a limit to contraction. He took upon himself that limit when he became male. That was the limit of contraction, the limit of opacity. Now he breaks the shell by my exercise within me of the law of repentance. And so I exercise my imagination. And then he breaks the shell. Now there is no limit now to expansion.

No limit to translutions. There is only a limit he breaks about himself, which was the limit of death, which is capacity and contraction. So God is infinite in potential. And everyone here is going to join that wonderful stream of creativity and be one with God. Now when you hear it, don't just hear it and forget it. Try it. Pull it to the extreme test. And then tell another. And have the other tell someone else. And spread the good news. This is called the Gospel. For the word Gospel to me means good news. It's the good news about God, how God became man, that man may become God. For if God's name is I Am, I know I say I Am, it's the core of I Being I can say I'm a slave.

But I can get over sickness, but I can't get over being I Am. I can get over being rich and become extremely poor, but I can't get over being I Am. So He actually became the core of I Being. That's the thing then, that's I Being. For if that is thine, and that's thine, well, he became me. God acts in me in things, that I may become as he is. He gave upon himself this limitation, that I may become what he is, which is infinite, and grand for all. So you try it tonight. Try it with anything in this world. If you're unmarried, if you desire to be married, what symbol in the world would imply that you are married?

A little band, this best in the world, a little band around this finger. Not around any other finger. Around this finger. It doesn't have to be the biggest, after -bastard world. Just a plain little gold ring. If you wore it there, it would imply you're married. Sleep tonight as though you wore one. Don't put your physical thumb on it. Put your imaginary thumb on it. And feel it in your imagination. You can do it. Feel the ball. Can you feel it? Then feel these as well. Feel this, one after the other. Can you discriminate between all these different sensations? If you can discriminate between this, the tennis ball, and the baseball, please feel it. Then you can't discriminate between nothing.

They must exist, though unseen by your eyes, they still must exist. So if I can discriminate between these unseen objects, these objects, though unseen, must be real. Well now take that and put it there. But feel and beware it that you are proud of the one who put it there. You don't have to see what it looks like. When they put there, you'll be proud of his name, to bear it, and you'll be proud of him. Just put it there. You know how I know that? My wife did it. She did it. Actually she did it. One day she was in the bedroom, and she was talking about sensitive. And this one said to her, why do you take off your wedding ring?

She said, I am not married. Oh she told me, take off your wedding ring. But I said, I am not married. Now you can tell you with me, that she started off with nip, nether, nither. She didn't quite get it, but she was coming very, very close to it. She was actually sensing what my wife in consciousness was feeling. When I first met her, I wanted her the very first day I knew her. I wanted to marry her, but I was entangled. Was I entangled? But by this law, I disentangle myself. Without hurting anyone, I disengage myself from all these complexities, so that I could actually legitimately say, will you marry me? But in the meanwhile, she was wearing the ring.

I hadn't yet put it there, but she allowed me to put it there, and stepped as though I had put it there. So I tell you unmarried ladies, if you desire to marry, if you don't, if you do, that's the way to do it. and you'll come out of nowhere you don't have to go and buy anyone or try to meet the right people usually when you try to meet the right one it's always the wrong one so don't go searching those who are searching for love only make manifest their own love left there and the love left never finds love only the loving find love and they never have to seek for it when you're born in love you don't have to seek for it you go, they come to you So here, this is the power of which I speak.

God Within as Imagination

The power of the universe. The power that created and sustains the universe is resident in you as your own wonderful human imagination. That God. Don't forget it. I know it's difficult when man has been trained to believe in an external God. And he goes to church, he gets on his knees and he prays to an external God. And he goes home at night. Maybe he does say his prayers and gets them on his knees and he prays to an external God. All right, maybe that's a nice thing for someone to do. But I tell you, he is not there at all. You won't be criticized for it, but he is within you. Very personal, I tell you.

He is very, very personal. I am within you. When you are told in Scripture, of the rock that begot her to be our mindful, And that seems to be all a figure of speech, and how true that thing is. One night, sitting in the silence rather than afternoon, I was thinking of nothing in particular, and suddenly before my eyes came this quartz, an enormous quartz. As I looked at it, it fragmented itself, broke into dumbness and obedience, and then it reassembled itself. And the reassembled was not into a corpse, but into a man, seated in the lotus posture. I'm looking at this man, all seated up, perfect man. As I looked at him, I'm looking at myself.

Here I am, the prasiva, observing myself, seated in the lotus posture. This deep, deep meditation. And as I became aware, as I looked at myself, it began to glow. And it glowed and glowed and glowed, and with the intensity of luminosity, it exploded. And then I returned to this world. Where I feel within me. That being is meditating this. This is my dejection of itself in the world. And when he wakes within me, completely wakes, I am he. God actually became me. He said, I may become God. And he put me through all the pages, allowing me to make all the mistakes, to make a month left for things I talked about earlier. I made that, and I made a lovely one.

And he allows it in his meditation. ¶He is the dreamer in you. And he is dreaming divinities. And dreaming everything that I dream in this world. And when he awakes, this will cease to be an I am who. And he is God. And he is God. I tell you, go out and try. Begin tonight. I make you this promise, if you try it, faithfully, you will not fail. ¶All the questions please. Negative full evening. I have taken two nations unto my own. The Scripture tells us we take our death and law in the world of peace that is based upon it. The testimony of one is not acceptable in court. There must be two witnesses.

We have an external witness in the form of Scripture, the written Word. Man is the living Word and he has to duplicate it. All the stories in Scripture he must experience. So when he actually experiences Scripture, there are two witnesses. His inner testimony of the Father and the outer testimony of the written Word. So we speak of the two in the eleventh chapter of Revelation. My two witnesses. If two different persons agree in testifying, it's concluded. If one comes and swears even though it's true, it's not acceptable in court. You may be telling the truth, but there might be a second to confirm it. No, God's witness is the Bible. Is the literary true? I care to experience the literary truth.

But it's not secular history. It's supernatural history. So when you experience it, you will experience it in a remote region of the self. It will duplicate the written history. That is supernatural history. Salvation history. But certainly, my dear, you wouldn't be here. You wouldn't be here were you not hungry to experience God. ¶The world isn't hungry enough for it. You're told, I will send a famine upon the world. It will not be a hunger for bread, or a thirst for water, but for the hearing of the word of God. And when you have that kind of a hunger, only an experience of God can satisfy the hunger. Or the mind of the world can satisfy it.

When that thirst is upon you, nothing in the world can actually quench that thirst but an experience of God. And his whole story is told in the Bible. When man experiences Scripture, Scripture must be fulfilled immediately. So, the two witnesses, the living witness which you have experienced, and the external witness of the written word. Any other questions? Come on, make it night before evening. We still have ten minutes. When you imagine, you are showing, but we do not recognize our own orbits when we see the imaginary act projected from the cleanest place. The type would never imagine a thing like that, but we must do it, or we could not encounter it. So the act of imagining is sowing, and in its own good time it crops out from that unseen journey and appears on the cleanest place, and you see it, but you don't always recognize your harvest.

I'll tell you one thing. Do not concern yourself with the me. Always go to the end. Go in the end. And you'll hurt no one. But if you try to devise the mean, you're... well, that's the whole thing now. I've had people tell me, you know, I want that man and no other man. I say, no you don't. You want to be happily married. You don't want that man or no man. Oh yes, that man or no man. Then of course it always shocks people. I say, if he's all dead right now, Do you want to be married? What? She isn't going to drop dead. I didn't ask you that. If he drops dead right now, or we advance to the very moment of Q, of being the world's greatest thief, or murderer, they'll want it.

Well, now, why ask those questions? I want that man. You see, they want that man. They want to be happily married. I have gone to so many weddings where it was either that man or none, and it wasn't that man. And they're embarrassed when they see me sitting up, standing in the aisle. Because they had to be that man or no man, and here they've beaten that man at all. And they walk down, they're happy with their new mate, but a little sheepish, it's a fast -fire. Because they know, I know, he was not the man. You want to be happily married. All right, so to the end, you're happily married. and let him come.

Clone in all that it takes to be happy in your world. He doesn't have to be cloned. Imagine that idol. What their so -called world. They divorce one after the other anyway. So what does that do to the girl? It's for she to him. So that's not what you really want. You want something of the man. So he comes home. The house is closed. Friend, he comes home when you want that house empty. I know that's what I would like. I have that. If I come home and Billy is not home, I have pains at home. I may have a party going on at the hotel. Same thing for Charles. Where is Bill? Why, she isn't here.

You know the whole thing is empty. She comes, and if she goes home, she'll be back at five. She isn't five. She goes back at six. Well, between five and six, I am not myself. Where is she? Everyone should have that kind of relationship that the house is empty when the maid is not. May or may not be. If I could come home and it didn't matter whether she was there or not, what on earth am I doing being married? If she isn't there and it makes no difference to me whether she's there or not, what do you mean that's not marriage? The house must be empty when she isn't there or you are. If I knew in her heart that I could go and come and I watched and she wasn't concerned, oh, that got my wife away.

I know that before Sunday I leave her behind me, or she goes and leaves me behind. That I know is inevitable. But while we are together, I want it to be so that the house is empty if the hour is left. And I'm selfish enough to want her to feel the same way. Any other questions? I think that's a really good point. I think that's a really good point. I think that's a really good point. I think that's a really good point. I think that's a really good point. I think that's a really good point. I think that's a really good point. I think that's a really good point. I think that's a really good point.

I think that's a really good point. I think that's a really good point. I think that's a really good point. I think that's a really good point. I think that's a really good point.

Just as concrete, man creates unwittingly just as well as we can do. But in the grown of ours we should learn to create unconsciously. What I can't deny is that the so -called unconscious created is just as effective. We walk the earth and we see a head rise, we don't want people, we resolve and we react. That reaction so intensely was a creative action of ours. And so if you do it witty or unwitty, it's still easy.

Therefore become aware of what you're doing. Why is it every one become more and more aware? So that all the time you are selective. You and I are not going to assume that, give me a time to select it. I said, what you bring me three times, let me see them times. 50 colors, 100 colors, and I pick up one. Maybe if you don't kill. I'm not going in the same way as you do. I give you some food links and tell me, say, the year. But that's not more. I select one. Texture, color, what I think I need in my wardrobe to augment the wardrobe. I pick it up. Let me make it happen.

So I don't let him tell me what I should want. But you... No, just the text. All day long people are reading about all the things in the world, and it all is what they've painted unwittingly. They sit down, even you often read it, and buy the little paper that's new. And beginning to end, it's the biggest paper in our country. It has a daily circulation of over two and a half million. I think the Sunday circulation is about five minutes. It's a little tabloid, and not one word in it is anything but nakedness. Who murders whom, who is raping whom, who is living with whose wife, and all this is all in the... and they love it.

And of course the little lion is a crab anyway, so it's not a book character. And they're strapping themselves with all their nonsense as they go to their cell. Once on an hour they're reading it. Now, same thing happens in their world and it simply happens in an abnormal manner. They don't realize they're doing it. The whole thing is done by them. There's a taxing line. No discrimination at all. There are people who go into a restaurant and say, What does the chef want to get rid of today? Same thing. And he said, oh, he has two months of the still. He had it before his age. He had it. And that's what they want to unload.

I want to find different names today, but I don't know for that. He said, we'll mail you. A friend of mine told me this as it was. We met at your restaurant, and the waiter was very, very careful. And he spilled a little bit. And I bring him all the movies that tell me. Is this carrot? On the way to it, he said, I'm asking a very simple question. Is this charity? And he said, What do you mean? Do I pay for it? He said, I certainly do. Then take it back. And bring me a nice clean plate and fun silver soup. The man said, Because I am born in a nice clean plate and fun silver soup.

If it's charity, leave it there. I can't complain. But if I'm paying for it, who takes it back? Oh, that is a lesson we should all learn. Too many pianos things go on and no one gets them up. I think it's important to understand that the piano is a tool. It's not a weapon. It's a tool that can be used to make people laugh.

First of all, I don't divorce myself from God. I do not divorce myself from God. He only has one name, and I have the name. So I can't point out to him that he is real. Even if I say he is real, I am divorced from God. So I ask myself, what do you want from me? No, because the whole vast world is about myself. You aren't going to answer anybody. But you can't deny that you still desire it. You want that thing. So you want it. Well, you assume that you have it. And they left being happy. If it takes a thousand or ten thousand to see the birth of their adopted, then they'll be used.

And they'll be used either knowingly or unknowingly. But if I have to wait for it, it is God's will. I'll wait forever. I'll wait forever. It is God's will that I prepare it, or we just perish. So then if I were to wait seven hours, that would tell me first, because maybe some friend would say, you know, you need that experience. You need all this thing to be fired up. I've had it. I learned the same lesson twice. I've had that. When I taught dodge fail, and I allowed him to do it, and I taught him and did nothing, then came the end of the month, and you can't pay rent. And then he said, you know, I can't carry you any longer.

Out you go. I have had that experience. I went to God to tell me what to do. He never told me. I had to do it. And so when I got married, I knew I had an obligation to do it. I had another one. Then came a child. I had another one. This is my obligation. You have some external being telling me now, I know what I have to do. But if I might give a some external being to talk to me to say, well, maybe she shouldn't go. It would be easier, I think. I'm passing the buck. The whole past will happen. No, my dear, make your decision. Even if you're wrong, make a decision.

What are we going by? What are we doing? But to be undecided so that you will not make a mistake. Well, you know that story in Eastern Reveille? Would that you were hot or cold. But because you are neither hot nor cold, and that you are lukewarm, I feel you are. You can make coffee or tea with lukewarm water. Let it be hot or cold. Sometimes it means quenched. You know the people who are toasty and they never lie that you are not. I think you are as insane as they come. Oh, I will tell them that time, I think. Those who really oppose become my best students. But those who come and tell them, I think you're wonderful.

First time they hear you, I think you're wonderful. Never come back. But those who say I can get married and say it. I've had them. I was in 49th Street in New York City. I came on two ladies. One lady was showing the other some thread. All over New York City. And a picture of mine was in the window with my book. And one said, you know who he is? She said, no. But he is the mad mystic of 48 Stringswood. Oh, you've got to go and hear it. You've got to go and hear it. He's as mad as the heifer. We all go to hear it because he's so mad. It's fun, she said.

It's fun. You want to sit down, postulate it. In those days it was all a voluntary effort on their part. And so a thousand people would come three times a week to hear the mad mystic of 48 Stringswood. But those who heard and thought, now he really did serve, and they were challenged from the platform, from the audience, they became the students. Those like the ones on the street who just don't have any mystic, don't have fun, they never became students. There we have their little icons. They never answered them, but never at their prayer anyway. In hope. My dear, I have an interesting thing that is specific on camping. I just knew what I wanted so often on certain things and wanted it in detail and got it.

If I cannot be that specific over it, I will take an aim, an overall aim. But if you read God's scriptures, God is very gifted.
