The Word
Scripture's creative word, the spoken name of God, and the word made flesh when an imagined assumption takes on life.
About The Word
What is 'the Word' in Neville's teaching?
Scripture's creative word, the spoken or imagined name of God Neville tied to the life of the imaginal act. 'In the beginning was the Word' because everything starts as an inner declaration, an 'I am' said with feeling.
What does it mean to 'speak the Word'?
Say your imaginal declaration as if it is already true and feel it, an inner speech that carries an assumption into being. Neville linked it to the word made flesh, an assumption that comes to life.
Why is the Word linked to the name of God?
Because the creative declaration is an 'I AM' statement. Assume a new identity with feeling and you are speaking the divine word into yourself. These lectures work that out in scripture.
The Word of God
Running time 45:27Neville describes the Bible as the biography of God that unfolds within each individual. He explains that the Word of God abides as human imagination, which erupts to reveal that the scriptural story is one's own experience. The birth of the Savior, the father-son relationship with David, and the resurrection are presented as events occurring within the soul, not in external history.
